BATHROOM / SEPTIC:

Like most cottages, our cabin operates on a septic system.  The septic system is a very sensitive and integral part of cottage life.  The basic rule is do NOT put anything down the toilet other than natural waste and toilet paper.

BARBECUE:

A gas barbecue is provided; please notify us if the tank requires refilling.  Please do not burn any foreign material (e.g. wood) in the barbecue as it is gas / propane.  The barbecue grill should be cleaned / brushed after each use.

GUESTS:

As we value our relationship with our neighbours, no parties, events or subletting without prior authorization is permitted.

GARBAGE DISPOSAL:

Please ensure that all waste (garbage and recycling) is taken with you when leaving. Sooke Removal & Hauling is located past Edward Milne Secondary School at 2049 Idlemore Road and is available for your garbage disposal / recycling needs for a nominal fee. Sooke Bottle Depot is located just across the street for your convenience.

CHECK OUT TIME:

Your adherence to the check out time of noon will be appreciated to allow for cabin maintenance and preparation for the next cabin guests.  Check in is 4pm PST.

CLEANING:

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and consideration in leaving the cabin (inside and out) as thoroughly clean and tidy as it was for your arrival.  Cleaning equipment and environmentally friendly supplies have been provided to make your task as easy as possible.  It is required that the cabin be left thoroughly clean and tidy.

WATER:

Kemp Lake is a watershed lake that supplies the cabin with water.  It is NOT advised to drink or consume the tap water without boiling it first.  Thus, no powered boats are permitted for use on the lake.
